The Department of Mathematics has been operational since the inception of the college. Within this department, we offer a BSc Mathematics degree program as part of our undergraduate offerings. Notably, we are the sole department representing the science category in the college. Presently, the department is staffed with four dedicated teaching faculty members. Our Bachelor of Mathematics program at Government Arts and Science College is designed with a structured curriculum that covers a wide array of course features. The program places a strong emphasis on mathematical principles, theories, and practical applications, ensuring that students gain a profound understanding of mathematics and its real-world relevance. We prioritize mathematical rigor and logical thinking, which fosters the development of abstract reasoning. We take special care to support slow learners, providing them with the assistance they need to grasp and comprehend the curriculum effectively. Additionally, many of our students in the department are actively involved in extracurricular activities such as NSS, YRC, and participate in various community service programs.
